Rights of Canadian Indigenous People Mackenzie Pipeline by Gillian Hammerton
The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People affirms“That indigenous peoples are equal in dignity and rights to all other peoples, while recognizing the right of all peoples to be different, to consider themselves different and to be respected as such.” Yet even as they seek to retain their land and resources, their culture and integrity they are threatened for their very cultural existence by developers as with the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline.
